SINGAPORE - Shape Run 2012, the seventh edition of Singapore's first women-only running race, concluded successfully this morning at Nicoll Highway. Organised by Shape Singapore, a publication of SPH Magazines Pte Ltd, the event included two novel firsts this year - a new non-competitive 2.4km category and male pacers to help runners achieve their goal timings.

Carolyn Pryor topped the 10km race category in 39 mins 52 secs, coming in approximately one minute ahead of the second runner up.

Finishing first in the 5km race category was Suzanne Walsham, who clocked an impressive timing of 17 mins 29 secs.

Previous winners for Shape Run 2011 in the 10km and 5km race categories were Eunice Nyawira Muchiri with a timing of 34 mins 21 seconds and Jenny Lundgren with a timing of 18 mins 04 secs respectively.

Welcome the foreign talents in Singapore!

We don't have to see local winners anymore. Government encourages healthy competition and wants the fittest to survive in our society.
