Hamstring Origin Tendinopathy Massage or stretch?

Post by invalidinstincts on Sat Jul 21, 2012 5:30 am

Hi, Just wanna ask which is better to treat an acute/sub acute H.O.T problem. To stretch before onset of pain to maintain functional ROM or to massage hamstring muscle belly using a tennis ball.
Pls help!

Thanks! (:

To manage an acute/subacute hamstring origin tendinopathy (H.O.T) has to be determined by S.I.N.S. Severity, irritability, nature and stage.

If your aim is to improve the layering of the new tissues, stretching will be useful.

Massaging hamstring muscle belly should help for related hamstring spasm which may occur during the injury. The reduction of spasm will help improve circulation and promotion function.

Depends on your aims and objective of the treatment.

Must the answer be a sucker's choice?
